I spent the summer of 2019 living in New York City and interning with Edelman on their Business + Social Purpose team. I loved having the opportunity to put my passion for sustainability and social equity to work in a professional environment, all while putting my account management skills to the test.

I supported a number of clients; including H&R Block, Planet Fitness and TJ Maxx; to help them develop and deploy corporate social responsibility programs.

My day-to-day roles in the office included PowerPoint deck design support, building media lists, drafting briefing books and key messaging for clients as well as proofing many client-facing documents.

Additionally, having the opportunity to participate in client meetings for multiple accounts really helped me understand account management and develop my people skills. I scheduled meetings and booked conference rooms, as well as took notes and prepared documents for the rest of the team.

Apart from my work supporting those clients, my role revolved largely around research-based projects to support new business acquisition. I frequently reviewed scholarly papers, news articles and competitor data to compile reports for my managers.
